On Friday, Tencent released a research paper on GameGen-O. It's described as the first AI model designed specifically for generating open-world video games.

What is GameGen-O?

It's an AI model that can generate high-quality, open-world game content, including characters, environments, and complex actions.

How was it developed?

Tencent used data from over 100 next-gen open-world games and employed a two-stage training process.

What can it do?

It can produce game-like video sequences based on text prompts and control inputs.

Is it playable yet?

Not quite. The current demos are short video clips, not real-time generated gameplay.

How fast is progress in this field?

Microsoft’s new AI agents 🤖 👔

On Monday, Microsoft announced Copilot Agents for Microsoft 365. This new feature allows organizations to create custom AI assistants without coding.

What are Copilot Agents?

They're AI assistants that can automate tasks, interact with users, and execute business processes within Microsoft 365.

How do you create them?

Using Microsoft Copilot Studio, with a new “lightweight” experience for non-technical users.

Where can you use them?

Agents can be published to Teams, SharePoint, and Business Chat. Users can @mention them in chats.

How much does it cost?

Copilot Studio is a $200/month add-on to Microsoft 365 Copilot ($30/user/month).

When will it be available?

Rollout begins in the coming weeks, with SharePoint integration preview in early October.
