On Wednesday, Meta announced Movie Gen. Itβs a video generation model that enables you to create and edit videos with audio from text prompts.
What is Movie Gen?
It allows you to:
generate 16-second videos from text descriptions.
create videos from your uploaded images.
edit videos using text instructions.
generate synchronized 45-second audio clips, like ambient sounds, music, and more.
How powerful is it?
It's a 30-billion parameter model, trained on licensed and public datasets.
So itβs perfect?
Nah. It produces inconsistent results with complex prompts. Meta claims there are potential ethical concerns as well.
When can I use it?
Meta hasn't announced a release date yet.

Highlight sections for AI-assisted editing.
Specialized tools for writers (text length adjustment, final polish).
Coding features (code review, bug fixing, language porting).
Who can use it?
Itβs available now for ChatGPT Plus and Teams users. Enterprise and Education users get access next week, and OpenAI claims free users will get access after a beta period.
