MAIN COURSE

Fire yourself, hire your clone 🤖 🧑‍🤝‍🧑

On Thursday, HeyGen announced a new Interactive Avatar feature. It can join Zoom meetings and other live interactions on your behalf.

What can these avatars do?

They can join multiple Zoom meetings simultaneously, mimic your appearance, voice, and decision-making style, provide meeting summaries and recordings afterward, and more.

How are they customized?

Users can input company info, brand guidelines, and other relevant data to tailor the avatar's knowledge base.

What can I use it for?

You can use it for customer support, online coaching and training, sales calls, job interviews, language learning assistance, therapy sessions, and more.

Does it integrate with existing tools?

Yes, for example, it syncs with Google Calendar to preview and assign avatars to specific meetings.

Is it available now?

Nah. The product is still in beta, with HeyGen seeking user feedback for improvements.

So, it’s perfect?

Far from it. The video quality and latency will both be improved.

Are there other AI clones available?

In August, we reported on Synthesia’s Personal Avatars. You just sit in front of a webcam, read a 60-second text, and wait a day for the avatar to generate.

Last month, we covered Meta’s video avatars. They can now engage in realistic voice conversations across Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

SIDE SALAD

80,000 got Google's AI. Did you? 🎙️ 📲

On Tuesday, Google added customization options to NotebookLM's Audio Overview feature. You can now tell the AI hosts what to focus on in their podcast-style summaries of your content.

What's new?

You can guide AI hosts on topics, expertise levels, and focus areas before they create audio summaries.

Why do I care?

It helps prevent conversations from drifting into irrelevant areas and reduces AI hallucinations.

Any other new features?

Background listening lets you work in NotebookLM while the audio plays.

How do I use it?

Google launched the NotebookLM Business pilot program, offering it as part of Google Workspace.

Is it popular?

80,000 organizations are already using NotebookLM.

When will NotebookLM Business be fully released?

Google hasn't announced specific pricing or a timeline yet.

Where can I find out more about NotebookLM?

Last month, we reported on Google’s Audio Overviews. We went over how it generates study guides, fact-checks with source links, and more.
