MAIN COURSE
Chinese AI stole your job😳
A Chinese startup called Manus launched an AI system that can complete complex tasks independently. It impressed top industry experts and went viral.
What is it?
Manus works as a truly autonomous agent. It analyzes problems, makes plans, and executes complex tasks without human supervision. Early testers reported completing two weeks of professional work in about an hour.
How's it different?
Unlike current AI assistants that just generate ideas or text, Manus delivers complete results by using multiple specialized sub-agents to break down complex tasks.
Who cares?
Hugging Face CEO Clement Delangue, investor Andrew Wilkinson (who said “I feel like I just time-traveled six months into the future”), and other AI experts are raving about it.
Can I try it?
Not easily. It's invitation-only due to “genuinely limited server capacity.” This created a scramble for access codes.
Why does it matter?
Following DeepSeek's breakthrough last month, Manus is China's second major leap that challenges the US’ dominance in AI.
What's next?
We need our own autonomous AI agents, or we’ll risk falling behind in the global AI race.

SIDE SALAD
Don’t think. Use Google🤤
Google announced a new experimental feature called AI Mode. It enhances Search with more powerful AI capabilities. Allegedly.
What's new?
AI Mode significantly expands AI Overviews. It uses Gemini 2.0 to handle complex, multistep questions that would normally require several searches.
What can it do?
It allows in-depth comparisons and follow-up questions. For example, you could compare sleep tracking across different devices and ask questions about heart rate during deep sleep.
How does it work?
It uses a query fan-out technique that runs multiple related searches simultaneously. It combines results with Knowledge Graph data for comprehensive answers.
Who can use it?
It’s initially limited to Google One AI Premium subscribers through Google Labs. Regular AI Overviews are expanding to teens and no longer require sign-in.
Is it any good?
Eh. Google acknowledges it has bugs and that responses might sometimes “take on a persona or reflect a particular opinion.”
What's next?
Google plans to add more visual responses with images and videos, richer formatting, and better connections to web content.
