MAIN COURSE
AI resurrected John Lennon 🎸 🇬🇧
On Thursday, The Beatles' song, Now and Then, scored two Grammy nominations. It's the first AI-assisted track to earn Grammy recognition.
What's special about the song?
AI helped isolate John Lennon's vocals from a 1970s demo tape that was previously unusable, letting Paul and Ringo complete it.
How was AI involved?
It used “stem separation” to clean up the audio and remove background noise. It’s the same tech used to remaster old Beatles albums.
Is this allowed?
Yup. The Grammys permit AI elements if human creators remain central to production.
How's it performing?
It has 78 million streams. It’s lower than other Record of the Year nominees like Taylor Swift and Beyoncé.
When are the awards?
February 2nd, 2025.
I want more AI-powered Beatles.
I got you. Last year, we covered the song in more detail.

SIDE SALAD
Your video budget, now 0 🔥 🎥
Two weeks ago, Google started rolling out Vids. It’s a text-to-video creation tool for Workspace.
What can you do with it?
You can create videos from prompts, drop in your docs/slides, or use templates for quick starts. Googe’s AI tackles everything from script writing to scene transitions.
What about sound?
You can use your own voice or pick from Gemini's AI voices.
How does it work?
Like other Google tools, it works right in your browser with familiar sharing and collaboration features.
When can I use it?
Who knows? Only select Workspace users get it now.
What else has Google done recently?
Last week, we covered Google’s Learn About. It’s an experimental learning tool that turns search queries into interactive educational experiences.
Las month, we reported on Google DeepMind’s music updates. We broke down MusicFX DJ, Music AI Sandbox, and YouTube Dream.
A LITTLE SOMETHING EXTRA
My big, fat AI experiment 🤓 📲
For the past 6 nights, I’ve livestreamed for about 2 ½ hours with an AI DJ. I created the AI chatbot to steal the Beatles’ Grammy nomination.
Suck on that, Ringo. 🥁
